1984 Utopia

1984 Utopia is a political roleplay simulation on Roblox developed by Varenth Industries, inspired by George Orwell's novel Nineteen Eighty-Four. Up to 40 players compete for control of a nation through diplomacy, combat, lawmaking, and a fully player-driven economy. Launched in September 2025 and entering public alpha in February 2026, it is one of the most politically ambitious social roleplay games on the platform.

The game revolves around five distinct role paths, each offering a completely different way to play. The path you choose shapes every interaction with every other player in the server - alliances form and collapse, coups are organized, and the economy shifts in real time based on what players choose to do:

• 💼 Leader - passes laws, manages national affairs, and becomes the primary assassination target for rebel factions
• ⚔️ Thought Police - patrols districts and arrests citizens, with a genuine moral choice between loyal service and personal corruption
• 🏆 Rebel - organizes to assassinate the Leader and establish a new government if the coup succeeds
• 🏠 Citizen - works and trades in a fully player-driven economy where every item is crafted by other players
• 🎭 Specialist roles - Thief, Career Criminal, Black Market Dealer, Inventor, and Veteran Doctor each pursue separate agendas through stealth, trade, or force

Money is the in-game economic currency, earned through work and spent on goods produced by other players - no NPC shops exist in 1984 Utopia. Specialist roles like the Thief (who carries more gold bars and hides inventory from police searches) and the Career Criminal (who always spawns with C4 and a Lockpick) create predatory pressures that keep Citizens and Thought Police on alert. Combat is toggled with the C key and is a direct political tool, not a separate mode.

1984 Utopia occupies a unique space on Roblox as a genuine political simulation with emergent faction dynamics. Each 40-player server generates its own political drama - shifting alliances, police crackdowns, and coups - that no scripted game can replicate.
