About An Average Campaign [Alpha v..]

What the game is about and where to play it

An Average Campaign is a party-based turn-based RPG roguelike on Roblox developed by the An Average Campaign group, designed for groups of 3-4 players though it supports 1-5. Inspired by Dungeons and Dragons, Arcane Lineage, and Slay the Spire, it blends tabletop party dynamics with roguelike progression and Roblox social play. Launched in March 2025, it has accumulated over 20 million visits while maintaining a 94.9% approval rating - one of the highest on the platform - all while still in Alpha.

The core loop sends your party through a sequence of procedurally arranged encounters and events across multiple biomes. Between fights, the group votes on one of three path options - each leading to different enemies, NPCs, or rest opportunities. Death is permanent: if your party wipes, the run ends and everyone starts fresh with a new character. What sets this apart from simpler brawlers is the depth of each encounter:

  • βš”οΈ Turn-based combat - initiative-driven fights where skill timing, Energy management, and target selection determine survival
  • πŸ’Ž Seven playable classes - Brawler, Bard, Warrior, Mage, Ranger, Assassin, and Priest, each with 2+ subclasses and distinct stat scaling
  • πŸ—ΊοΈ Multiple biomes - Forest, Dungeon, Dwarven Mines, and Sewers, each with unique enemy pools and escalating difficulty
  • πŸ† Boon system - up to 5 passive upgrades purchased with Cealts (the in-game currency), each unlocked by completing specific achievements mid-run
  • ⏳ Seasonal events - Halloween and Bloodmoon events add limited-time encounter types and enemy variants

Cealts are the run currency, earned from combat and events and spent on Boons before each encounter. With 5 Boon Slots and dozens of available Boons - from flat stat boosts to risk/reward modifiers like The Pinnacle (+1 stat per fight but 1.5x damage taken) - building your Boon loadout is as strategic as picking your class.

An Average Campaign sits alongside Arcane Lineage as one of Roblox's most ambitious turn-based RPG experiences, but carves out a more approachable "D&D with friends" identity. The Alpha label means weekly updates and active development - subclasses, biomes, and bosses have all been added since launch, and the Fandom wiki (832 pages) is one of the most comprehensive for any Alpha game on the platform.

What is An Average Campaign?
An Average Campaign is a party-based turn-based RPG roguelike on Roblox where groups of 1-5 players choose classes, battle through procedurally arranged encounters across multiple biomes, and face permanent death if the party is wiped. Launched in March 2025, it has over 20 million visits and a 94.9% approval rating while still in Alpha.
Who made An Average Campaign?
An Average Campaign was created by the An Average Campaign development group, with huhuzh handling scripting and UI, Kario777 and Yuml_I on modeling, and FootLiker39 on animations and VFX. The game launched in March 2025 and receives weekly updates as of April 2026.
What classes are in An Average Campaign?
The confirmed classes are Brawler, Bard, Warrior, Mage, Ranger, Assassin, and Priest. Each class scales from specific stats - for example, the Brawler uses STR and DEX, while the Bard uses CHA. Most classes have at least two subclasses that change their role and skillset significantly.
How does the Boon system work in An Average Campaign?
Boons are passive upgrades purchased with Cealts, the in-game currency. Players have 5 Boon Slots available per run, and each Boon costs one or more slots depending on its power. Boons are unlocked by completing specific in-game achievements - for example, defeating the Baby boss unlocks The Pinnacle Boon.
Does An Average Campaign have permanent death?
Yes. If your entire party is eliminated during a run, the run ends permanently and all progress from that run is lost. Players must start a new run with a fresh character. This is the core roguelike element that makes each run decision meaningful.
Does An Average Campaign have codes?
An Average Campaign does not currently have a code redemption system. The game is in Alpha with no gamepasses, so the developer has not yet introduced a code program. Check back as the game continues to develop.
