Anime Guardians is an anime-themed tower defense game on Roblox where players summon hero units drawn from series like Bleach, Dragon Ball, Demon Slayer, Jujutsu Kaisen, and One Piece to defend against waves of enemies across a growing roster of maps. Developed by Zero Developer Studio and created in April 2024, the game has accumulated over 84 million visits and draws 1K-5K concurrent players with a 94.4% approval rating.

Players collect units through a gacha summoning system using Gems and MoonNight, then deploy them strategically on maps to clear increasingly difficult wave-based content. Units progress through multiple upgrade stages - Evolve advances a unit to its next form, Awaken unlocks unique active skills, and Limit Break pushes past the normal level cap. Unit rarities span from Rare up through Guardian and special event-only tiers, though higher rarity does not always mean better performance since Traits and Artifacts have an enormous impact on viability.

Traits are random stat modifiers applied to units that affect damage, range, cost, and area of effect. Trait Rerolls randomize a unit's modifiers until players land a desirable combination - getting the right Trait on a high-tier unit is one of the game's biggest grind drivers. The Skill Tree system (introduced in Update 22.5) adds another layer of unit investment through unlockable nodes fed by Skill Tree Tickets. Update 28 added the Guild system - a cooperative social structure tied to Monarch Coins - making team organization a new long-term investment.

Multiple game modes keep the experience varied. Story wave defense provides core progression, Raids offer cooperative endgame boss fights, the Infinity Castle tests how far an optimized roster can push through endless escalation, and the GATE spawns every 20 minutes as a server-wide challenge event. The Night Market rotates exclusive unit offerings on a limited-time basis.

Anime Guardians competes directly with Anime Vanguards and similar titles for the top slot in Roblox tower defense, distinguishing itself through biweekly major updates, active collaboration events, and one of the deepest unit optimization systems on the platform.
