About Assassin!

What the game is about and where to play it

Assassin! is one of Roblox's oldest and most iconic deathmatch games, created in March 2016 by the Assassin Community group and developer Prisman. Each round, every player in the 8-person lobby is secretly assigned a target and must hunt them down with throwing knives while avoiding whoever is assigned to hunt them in return. The result is a closed chain of predator-prey relationships - everyone is simultaneously hunter and hunted. With over 781 million total visits and 2.6 million favorites, it holds a foundational place in Roblox history.

When you eliminate your target you inherit their target as your next assignment, creating chain reactions that rapidly collapse the lobby. The long-term draw is the deep knife cosmetic economy built up over a decade of play:

  • ⚔️ Common and Rare - widely available through Coins earned from kills and survival time
  • 💎 Legendary - harder to obtain and notable in trades
  • 🏆 Exotic - high-prestige tier; the focus of most active traders; the VIP pass Spark Blade is an Exotic
  • 💎 Mythic and Dream - the rarest tiers; ultra-limited and the pinnacle of collector status
  • 🎭 Pets - cosmetic companions with their own rarity tiers and community-tracked value
  • 🏆 Prestige system - progression from Level 5 through Prestige 10; badge data shows about 142K players have reached Prestige 10

Each knife and pet has a specific name and community-tracked value maintained in an official Value List run by administrator Zickoi. Trades are evaluated using W/F/L (Win/Fair/Loss) shorthand. The community Discord (roughly 39,000 members) and the official Fandom wiki at roblox-assassinoff.fandom.com serve as the trading community's primary hubs.

Seasonal Clan contests and ranked competitions add a competitive layer with leaderboard rewards for organized groups. The game has operated for 10 years - concurrent players are lower than the 2017-2019 peak, but the trading community remains active. The code program effectively ended around 2020; new codes are extremely rare but historically gave named knife skins and pets with known trading values.
