The core loop is wave-based dungeon progression on a clear difficulty ladder. Each map unlocks after clearing the previous one:

Three currencies power progression in Blade Quest: Gold earned from monster kills for direct upgrades, Quest Coins from NPC objectives (doubled by the Better Quest Rewards pass), and Shards from Hardcore runs - the rare material used for high-end upgrades. The Double Shards gamepass (699 Robux) converts each Hardcore run from 2-4 Shards to a doubled yield, making it the most impactful purchase for late-game players.
