About Blood and Iron
Blood and Iron is a large-scale historical military shooter on Roblox developed by Ponchokings, created in April 2009 and one of the oldest surviving active games on the platform. Set during the Napoleonic Wars, players join one of 13 playable nations, choose from 15 soldier classes, and fight across 35+ historically inspired battlefields. It has over 115 million visits, 472,000 favorites, and an 86% approval rating built over 16 years of continuous development.
The core loop is organized team combat: select a nation and class before each battle, coordinate with your regiment on a historical map, and apply period-accurate tactics to push the enemy back. The regiment system adds a persistent social layer that keeps players returning between matches:
- ⚔️ 13 playable nations - covers the major Napoleonic powers including France, Britain, Prussia, Russia, and Austria
- ⚔️ 15 soldier classes - Line Infantry, Light Infantry, Grenadiers, Cavalry, Hussars, Lancers, Artillery crews, Officers, and more
- 🗺️ 35+ historical battles - maps recreate real Napoleonic battlefields with period-appropriate terrain and chokepoints
- 🏆 300+ active regiments - player-organized military groups that schedule drills, attend events, and compete in regimental matches
- ⚔️ Line tactics - Napoleonic formation-based combat that rewards coordinated advances over individual play
- 💼 Cosmetic passes - uniform and appearance packs at 45 Robux each for regiment identity and personalization
Blood and Iron has no in-game economy beyond cosmetic passes. Progression runs through regiment rank and battlefield experience rather than currency systems. Servers hold up to 80 players - among the highest server caps on the platform - enabling genuinely large-scale battles with multiple regiments fielding squads simultaneously.
The organized regiment community is what separates Blood and Iron from casual shooters. With 300+ active groups running their own internal hierarchies, drills, and competitive events, it functions more like a persistent military community than a casual drop-in shooter. Players interested in organized historical combat will find few equivalents on Roblox.
