About Blox Mod
Blox Mod is a fan-made recreation of Garry's Mod (GMod) on Roblox, built by Crazy Little Group and launched in July 2024. It replicates the PC sandbox experience where players have no set objectives - instead spawning NPCs, weapons, and props, then manipulating them with a physics gun. The game has accumulated 50 million visits and maintains 200-600 concurrent players. It explicitly disclaims any affiliation with Facepunch or Valve, the creators of the original Garry's Mod.
The core experience is open-ended sandbox play with no win condition, no missions, and no progression system - directly mirroring GMod's philosophy. Players use the tools and spawn menu to create scenes, build structures, and experiment with physics:
- 🏠 Physics gun - pick up, rotate, and freeze any prop or NPC regardless of normal physics rules
- 🏠 Spawn menu - select from NPCs, weapons, and props to place into the world
- 🏠 Ragdoll physics - NPCs enter realistic physics states when manipulated
- 🏠 Freeze tool - lock any object mid-air or in position for building and scene creation
- 🎭 Sandbox freedom - no objectives, no timers, no restrictions on what players build
Blox Mod has no gamepasses or in-game purchases, keeping the experience entirely free to play - a choice consistent with GMod's original paid-game-no-microtransactions philosophy. The 16-player server size is well-suited for collaborative sandbox building sessions.
Among Roblox sandbox games, Blox Mod is uniquely positioned as a direct GMod homage targeting players familiar with PC gaming sandbox culture, rather than the broader building games that dominate the genre.
