Breaking Point

Breaking Point is a social deduction party game on Roblox developed by Paradox, created in February 2017. Players sit around a table and pass a gun in a Russian roulette format, using bluffing, social pressure, and reading other players to be the last one standing. At 1.36 billion visits with an 81% approval rating from over 2.27 million votes, it is one of Roblox's classic billion-visit titles. Despite receiving its last update in December 2019, it continues to draw thousands of concurrent players through community nostalgia and timeless gameplay.

Each round seats up to 16 players around a table. The gun passes from player to player with a chance of firing on each pull. Players must balance the risk of shooting others, reading who poses the most threat, and surviving long enough to outlast the table. The session resets with a new round when one player remains standing. Here is what defined the full experience at its peak:

• ⚔️ Russian roulette core - the gun may or may not fire each turn; surviving repeated passes while eliminating others is the primary skill loop
• 💰 Credits system - earned by winning rounds and spent in the shop on cosmetics including torso light colors
• 🏆 XP system - gained from participating in rounds; the retired VIP gamepass provided 1.2x XP multiplier
• 💎 Knife Trail - a retired gamepass that added a colored trail to the equipped knife, with the color tied to your torso light color purchase
• 🎭 Multiple modes - use the !join command (e.g. !join fr) to queue for specific game variants including a French mode and Duos/BETA mode
• 🗺️ Social deduction meta - reading the table, identifying threats, and timing eliminations adds a psychological layer beyond pure luck

All six gamepasses are now retired and not for sale. The VIP pass provided Galaxy Chair cosmetic, extra credits per win, and a small gun fire chance bonus. The Radio pass let players play custom audio in a room. These features remain active for original owners but are no longer purchasable.

Breaking Point is one of the games that established the social deduction genre on Roblox, and it remains a reference point for newer games in the space like Breaking Point 2, the 2021 remaster by Paradox 2.
