About Catalog Mystery
Catalog Mystery is a social deduction game by the Murder Mystery Fans Community group on Roblox, launched December 26, 2025. It reached 14 million visits in roughly four months with a 89.9% approval rating and draws 1,000 to 3,000 concurrent players. Servers hold 12 players matching the classic Murder Mystery format.
The game applies the standard Innocent, Sheriff, and Murderer formula with one key twist: every knife and gun skin comes from the Roblox catalog instead of custom weapon designs. Players earn Coins during rounds and spend them on catalog-sourced cosmetics in the shop. Each round plays out as follows:
- βοΈ Murderer role - one player receives a catalog-themed knife and must eliminate all others while blending in as an Innocent
- π Sheriff role - one armed player must identify the Murderer with certainty before shooting, as killing an Innocent drops the gun and ends the Sheriff's run
- πΊοΈ Innocent role - unarmed majority who must survive, collect Coins scattered across the map, and expose the Murderer through observation
- π° Coins - collectible currency earned from map pickups and round performance, spent on catalog weapon cosmetics in the shop
- π Catalog knife skins - all weapon cosmetics come from the Roblox item catalog, giving the game a massive and varied cosmetic library
Rounds last approximately 3 to 5 minutes. If the Sheriff is eliminated, any Innocent who picks up the dropped gun can attempt to take down the Murderer and save the round. The cosmetic shop is stocked entirely with catalog-sourced items.
Catalog Mystery targets the large Murder Mystery 2 playerbase looking for a community-run alternative with catalog-themed aesthetics. Players who enjoy this social deduction format will find Murder Mystery 2 worth comparing for its original weapon library and long-running community.
