About DIG
DIG is an open-world digging and exploration game on Roblox developed by WoozyNate, LiamGame09, and kylecat11 under the DIG Development group, launched in February 2025. Players use shovels to unearth hidden treasures across a massive open world, building RPG-style loadouts through a charm system and progressing through a ranked Combat Guild system. The game accumulated 55M+ visits and 93.8K favorites in its first year, distinguishing itself from idle digging games through an active skill-based dig mechanic that rewards precision.
The core digging system sets DIG apart from simpler simulators. Rather than clicking once to auto-dig, every dig node requires active engagement:
- ๐บ๏ธ Weak Spot Mechanic - a colored weak spot appears on each dig node; centering a moving line on it gives optimal hits and faster excavation, though misses still make progress
- ๐บ๏ธ Endurance Bar - a stamina meter at the bottom of the screen that depletes while digging; reaching zero risks losing the treasure being dug up, adding time pressure to each find
- ๐ Treasure Discovery - when the progress bar on the left empties, the loot is revealed - from common finds to rare and legendary items
- ๐ Charm Loadouts - equippable charm items that modify your character with passive bonuses, enabling customized builds for different play styles
- โ๏ธ Combat Guild - an RPG-style ranked progression system (Beginner, Novice, Master, Grandmaster) for players who engage with the combat layer
- ๐บ๏ธ Open World Zones - four distinct places suggest a hub plus multiple exploration zones or difficulty tiers
Six gamepasses extend the quality-of-life of the digging loop: Sell Anywhere removes the need to return to a shop, Double XP accelerates character progression, Car Materials and Spawn Vehicle Anywhere support a vehicle transport system for carrying finds, Shovel Club provides access to exclusive shovel tiers, and Appraisers Luck improves treasure rarity. Music is handled by a notable lineup including AZALI00013 and DM DOKURO, giving DIG a distinct atmospheric identity.
Among Roblox open-world digging games, DIG's rhythm-game-adjacent weak spot system and charm-based loadout depth give it more mechanical substance than most titles in the genre.
