About Murder Party
Murder Party is a multi-faction social chaos game by PlayMake where four competing teams face off simultaneously in 12-player servers, each playing by completely different rules. With 740M+ visits and 1M+ favorites since its August 2020 launch, it has secured a permanent place in the Roblox social game landscape with a design that remains entirely unreplicated at this scale - even in maintenance mode since May 2023, it draws 200-600 concurrent players.
Every round assigns players across four asymmetric factions, each with an incompatible win condition:
- โ๏ธ Team Murder - two roles (Murderer and Hunter) must eliminate all other players without being shot by Law
- ๐ผ Team Law - three roles (Detective, Sheriff, and Innocent) win by preventing every other team from completing their objective
- ๐บ๏ธ Team Chaos - the Hacker must reach and complete a laptop hack objective without being stopped
- ๐ญ Team Party - the Party Planner wins by getting every single player on the server dancing simultaneously
The interaction between all four factions creates emergent scenarios impossible to script: Murder hunts while Law disrupts, Chaos sneaks to the laptop, and Party tries to lure distracted players into dancing. A dedicated Trading Hub sub-place supports peer-to-peer cosmetic exchange, and an Item Museum lets players browse the cosmetic catalog. Coins earned from winning rounds and Gems from codes are spent on outfits, weapon skins (from Blaster Box, Firearm Box, and knife-type boxes), and pets.
Ten confirmed maps including Clockwork, Magic School, Party Castle, and Hacker's Lair each create different strategic dynamics. Murder Party shares a social multiplayer energy with Murder Mystery 2 but replaces deduction and trading with unpredictable multi-faction chaos where Team Party's win condition - getting everyone to dance simultaneously - remains one of the most unusual objectives in any Roblox game.
