Silent Assassin

Silent Assassin is a stealth-action hidden-role game by solo developer TypicalType on Roblox, where up to 12 players are secretly assigned one of three roles and must fulfill their objective without revealing themselves. Created in January 2018, it has accumulated over 122 million visits and 853K+ favorites - one of the highest favorites counts of any game in its category - with a 80.67/100 approval rating from over 250K ratings. The game received its most recent update in February 2026.

Each round begins with a secret role assignment:

• Assassin - eliminate the Target without being caught by Guards
• Guard - identify and eliminate the Assassin before the Target is killed
• Target - survive the round while avoiding isolated positions and staying near Guards

The tension comes from not knowing who is who. An Assassin must move and behave like a Guard until the right moment. Guards must read player behavior and identify suspicious patterns. The Target must stay protected while the deception plays out around them.

Before each round, players customize their Loadout with guns, Gear, and Perks - passive ability modifiers that shape playstyle. Coins are earned by winning rounds and used to unlock loadout items and open Cases - themed loot containers that yield random Weapon Skins. Cases come in several varieties: Typical, Unordinary, Animal, Future, Pattern, and seasonal variants for Halloween and Christmas.

Cases and weapon skins are purely cosmetic, keeping the competitive environment balanced regardless of what players unlock. The release cadence has been slow over the game's 8-year history - roughly seasonal for major holidays and game anniversaries.
