About Skillful
Skillful is a football (soccer) RPG on Roblox inspired by the anime series Blue Lock and Inazuma Eleven, where players build characters, unlock anime-style special Skills, and compete in 5v5 team matches on a football pitch. Developed by Slubberdegullion and launched in November 2022, the game has accumulated over 29 million visits with a 97.3% approval rating from 260K votes - an exceptional score for a game still officially in beta. For anime football fans, it sits alongside Blue Lock: Rivals in the growing anime sports niche on Roblox.
Matches are the core of Skillful. Two teams of five compete using standard football mechanics - running, dribbling, passing, and shooting - enhanced with flashy anime-style Skills that can turn the tide of any game. The 10-player server cap means every server is a complete 5v5 match with no observers, keeping the experience consistently competitive. Players choose between two equally valid playstyles: collaborative teammate (support, passing, positioning) or flashy solo star (individual skill techniques for dominating the pitch):
- π 5v5 Matches - Full team football with anime-style special abilities; standard football mechanics elevated by unlockable Skills and Weapons
- βοΈ Skill System - Anime-inspired special abilities purchased with Cash and equipped before matches; activate them during play for powerful effects
- πΌ Ranked League - Competitive ladder where wins push you up through league tiers; rank determines matchmaking and prestige
- π Cosmetic Auras - Visual effect gamepasses (Matrix Aura, Nebula Aura, Monster Aura, Puzzle Aura) that display around your character during matches
Cash is the main currency earned from match performance and code rewards, spent in the shop on Skills and Weapons (equippable items that augment match performance). XP from matches drives leveling, which unlocks higher-tier Skills and determines code eligibility - codes require Level 5 before redemption, along with liking the game and joining the community group. New players should focus on early match grinding to reach Level 5 before attempting codes.
Code names follow a predictable "thankyoufor[milestone]" pattern tied to like counts, making upcoming codes somewhat predictable. The official Discord server is the primary announcement source, with a new code promised at 120,000 likes.
