About something evil will happen
Something Evil Will Happen (commonly abbreviated SEWH) is a round-based disaster survival game on Roblox where players must survive randomly selected disasters while competing against and sabotaging other players in the same server. Developed by larvae studios - a four-person team of sorakaipie, idkwebm, Cynical_Billy, and iluvoatml22 - SEWH launched publicly in November 2024 and has already accumulated over 286 million visits, drawing 3K-6K concurrent players. It is a modern successor to classic Roblox disaster games, but with considerably more depth.
Each round drops up to 20 players onto a map where a disaster is selected at random from a pool of 56 unique events organized into three difficulty tiers: Fun (low lethality, comedic), Tense (moderate danger), and Dangerous (high lethality). Combo Rounds layer 2-4 disasters simultaneously for maximum chaos and higher payouts. Special Rounds feature curated events with unique rules, including cross-game collaborations. Disasters get harder as the round progresses, rewarding skilled players with more earnings.
Players earn Dosh - the primary currency - by surviving rounds, which they spend at Builderfan's Shop on gears and emotes. The gear system forces meaningful loadout decisions since players can only equip five gears per round. Starting gears include Bloxy Cola (health restoration) and Timebomb (sabotage), with additional options like Speed Coil, Floatie, Shield, Gravity Coil, and Dynamite available for purchase. Gears fall into survival, offensive, and support categories, letting players build toward different playstyles.
The Heat and Glory system drives long-term progression. Heat builds during each round through survival, scoring eliminations, and staying in dangerous positions, then converts to Glory at round end. Glory is a persistent score reflecting a player's lifetime skill and survival history.
