Sonic Speed Simulator is an officially licensed Sonic the Hedgehog game on Roblox, developed by Gamefam Studios in partnership with Sega. Players run through 15 open worlds based on iconic Sonic locations, collect Chaos Orbs to level up, increase speed and jump power, and unlock over 200 characters from the Sonic franchise. With over 1.43 billion visits and 2.9 million favorites since its March 2022 launch, it is one of the most high-profile officially licensed IP games on the platform, drawing both Roblox players and the broader Sonic fanbase. The game typically draws 5K-15K concurrent players.

The core loop is satisfying in its simplicity - run around a world collecting Chaos Orbs to gain XP, level up to get faster, and use Rings to unlock portals to the next zone. Once players reach Level 100, they can Rebirth - resetting to Level 1 in exchange for Skill Pieces that purchase permanent stat multipliers for XP, Rings, and boss damage. Rebirthing is the primary long-term progression loop, and high-Rebirth players are dramatically faster and stronger than newcomers. Rebirth Energy, obtained through gameplay and events, is required to perform each reset.

Beyond running, the game offers significant depth through its companion and seasonal systems. Chao companions follow the player and provide passive stat bonuses including XP multipliers, Ring multipliers, and Luck.
