About Speed City

What the game is about and where to play it

Speed City is one of the earliest and largest speed simulators ever made on Roblox, released in December 2018 by the Speed City developer group. It is the spiritual successor to Speed Simulator. Players run through a city environment and across seven distinct Realms, collecting Orbs and accumulating Steps - the primary currency that also doubles as the speed stat. The more Steps you hold, the faster you run, which increases your earn rate further, creating a compounding loop that rewards longer sessions. With 333M+ visits and 869K favorites, it remains a landmark title in its genre.

Trails are the core progression system - the equivalent of pets in other simulators. Each trail follows your character and provides three bonuses: a Step Multiplier from walking, an Orb Multiplier boosting how many Steps orbs grant, and a Jump Height bonus. Trails are obtained from Trail Crates purchased with Steps, making them both the goal and the tool for earning faster. Pursuing the trail with the best multipliers is the main endgame driver:

  • ๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ Blue Orbs - worth 25 Steps on contact
  • ๐Ÿ’Ž Green Orbs - worth 75 Steps; abundant in mid-tier realms
  • ๐Ÿ’ฐ Mega Rainbow Orb - rare spawn worth 100,000 Steps
  • ๐Ÿ† Races - competitive events awarding 250 Steps per win
  • โณ Snowman Quest - Winter Realm challenge rewarding an exclusive trail

The seven Realms unlock at escalating Step thresholds, each with unique aesthetics and crate pools. The Default City is the spawn area with no requirement; Winter Realm opens at 2,500 Steps and includes the Snowman Quest; Volcano Realm, Beach Realm, and Cloud Parkour each follow at higher thresholds. Completing the Cloud Parkour challenge awards a unique trail not available from crates.

As of late 2025, the code redemption system has been removed from Speed City and no new codes are currently available. The game receives occasional maintenance updates but runs with near-zero concurrent players in 2026.
