TDS: Legacy

TDS: Legacy is a preservation and recreation project on Roblox dedicated to reviving historical versions of Tower Defense Simulator - first the beloved 2020 Classic Era, and now the Hardcore Beta Era. Created by the TDS: Legacy group in April 2023, it gives nostalgic TDS veterans a way to experience the gameplay that defined earlier periods of the original game before it was updated away. The game has accumulated over 10 million visits and 21K favorites with a strong approval rating.

The core gameplay is classic wave-defense: team up with up to 50 players, place towers along the enemy path before each wave begins, and fend off escalating hordes of zombies and boss enemies. Towers auto-attack enemies on the path and are purchased and upgraded with Coins earned from kills and round completion. Leveling up unlocks access to new towers, and choosing the right tower loadout for each map is the central strategic challenge.

The game's current focus is the Hardcore Beta Era, the specific period of TDS history that v4.0.0 recreated. This mode captures the difficulty mechanics and boss roster - including enemies like Molten - that defined that era. The 50-player server cap makes TDS: Legacy one of the largest co-op experiences in this genre, ideal for organized groups who want the communal wave-defense atmosphere the original TDS was known for.
