About Vans World Skateboarding
Vans World is an officially licensed branded skateboarding experience on Roblox, created and operated by Vans - the real-world footwear and action sports brand. Now in its 2.0 version, the game places players inside four distinct skate locations, performing tricks and building combos to advance a skating career. With over 138 million visits and 40 players per server, it has a genuine open-world skate park feel that distinguishes it from simpler sports games on the platform.
The game spans four locations with distinct terrain and obstacles:
- Vans High - a fictional school skate environment
- France - European urban street skating
- Los Angeles - SoCal skate culture setting
- Tokyo - Japanese urban street skating
The core loop revolves around performing tricks and chaining Combos for multiplied XP and Waffle Coins rewards. XP levels up your skating career, unlocking improved abilities and trick options over time. Waffle Coins are the primary cosmetic currency, spent in the shop on authentic Vans-branded shoes, skateboard customizations, and avatar apparel. Grip Tape is a separate skateboard customization material, and Tickets serve as a secondary event currency.
The March 2026 update added Downhill Races - structured competitive racing on downhill courses - and introduced three real pro skater characters: Olympic Gold Medalist Arisa Trew, Olympic Silver Medalist Cocona Hiraki, and iconic pro skater Lizzie Armanto. As a brand-operated experience, Vans World also holds a notable milestone - the Mixxa shoe was the first Vans product released on Roblox before its real-world availability.
