Volleyball Ascended is a Haikyuu-inspired anime volleyball sports game on Roblox where players collect athlete characters, compete in skill-based matches, and progress through seasonal event passes tied to specific Haikyuu story arcs. Developed by Rino Games and launched in December 2024, it reached 25 million visits in roughly four months - exceptionally fast growth for a sports title, driven by the massive Haikyuu fanbase. The game distinguishes itself from broader volleyball titles like Volleyball Legends by going deep on anime character authenticity rather than original roster design.

The core gameplay uses skill-based volleyball mechanics where timing matters. Players Bump (left click) to receive, Spike (left click at the jump peak) to attack, Block (1 key while jumping) at the net, and distribute the ball with Front Set (F) or Back Set (R). Matches run in 2v2 and larger team formats across casual and ranked modes, with servers holding up to 12 players. Yen is the primary currency earned from match wins and battlepass rewards, used to spin for athletes and purchase cosmetics.

The Athlete system is the game's core collection mechanic. Characters based on Haikyuu players are obtained through gacha-style Athlete Packs. The Event Spin features season-specific athletes (like Timeskip Atsumu Miya), while the normal spin draws from the standard pool. Timeskip variants - based on the post-timeskip arc of the Haikyuu manga - are typically rarer and stronger than their normal counterparts. A seasonal Battlepass with free and premium tiers refreshes every 3-4 weeks, providing Yen, Athlete Packs, and cosmetics as progression rewards.
