Worm 2048

Worm 2048 is a multiplayer arcade game on Roblox that combines the classic snake genre with the 2048 number-merging puzzle. Developed by MetaMake and released in February 2023, the game has surpassed 161 million visits and regularly draws 50-150 concurrent players.

Players spawn into an arena as a numbered block (starting at 2 or 4) attached to a worm-like body. The goal is to reach 2048 by collecting free blocks floating in the arena and devouring other players whose head number is smaller than yours. When two blocks of the same value collide, they merge and double (2+2=4, 4+4=8, and so on). Eating another player adds their value to your total.

The tail is a key vulnerability - opponents can eat your tail segments if those segments have a smaller number than the attacker's head. An accelerate/boost mechanic lets players sprint to escape larger threats or chase down fleeing prey, but it drains energy and must be used tactically. Servers hold 15 players, keeping encounters frequent and the arena competitive.

Progression within a session is purely about number accumulation - there is no persistent level-up system between rounds. The leaderboard tracks who reaches the highest values.
