About Backrooms Race
Backrooms Race is a clicker-racing hybrid on Roblox developed by DoubleAce Games - the creators of Race Clicker - that wraps incremental clicking mechanics, egg hatching, and pet collection inside the liminal horror aesthetic of the Backrooms creepypasta. Players click to accumulate speed, race through iconic yellow-carpeted Backrooms stages while evading a pursuing NextBot, and earn Wins that permanently compound into a speed bonus for future runs. Launched in May 2022, it has over 127 million visits, 251K favorites, and a 92.6% approval rating.
The loop begins with clicking: repeatedly clicking builds movement speed, letting you race farther into each Backrooms stage before the NextBot closes the distance. Wins are earned by completing races and serve as the primary progression currency - Wins also determine your position on the top-100 leaderboard, adding a persistent competitive layer beyond each individual race. The game has a full secondary content loop built around eggs, pets, hidden pages, and monster encounters:
- βοΈ Racing - click to build speed, outrun the NextBot through Backrooms stages, and earn Wins per completion
- π° Wins - the core progression currency; more Wins means faster permanent base speed and higher leaderboard rank
- π Egg hatching - hatch eggs to collect pets including special Sir Evolutions and Meme Evolutions variants
- πΊοΈ Pages - hidden collectibles inspired by Backrooms lore; finding all earns the "Found all Pages!" badge
- π Monsters - collectable encounter types scattered across the Backrooms world, tracked via the "Met all Monsters" badge
Hatching passes include Triple Hatch (opens 3 eggs at once), Fast Hatch (speeds animation), and Plus 5 Pets (expands your equippable pet count). Backrooms Race competes with Backrooms for horror-themed Roblox attention but leans into casual clicker gameplay rather than survival exploration.
