BEAR (Alpha)

BEAR (Alpha) is a 1-vs-all survival horror game by Cheedaman where one randomly chosen player becomes the Bear and hunts down all Survivors across a map, while Survivors attempt to escape or complete objectives. Created in May 2019, it has grown over seven years into one of Roblox's most storied survival games - with over 340 million visits, 1.13 million favorites, an 89.5% approval rating, and an extraordinary 36 sub-places that function as much as a lore art installation as a game.

The core session loop is simple and tense: 10 players spawn, one is designated the Bear, and the asymmetric chase begins. Survivors win by escaping; the Bear wins by eliminating everyone. Quidz are the in-game currency earned each round and spent in the Quidz Shop on cosmetic Bear skins. The skin catalog has grown through six annual anniversary events and seasonal holidays:

• 🏆 Anniversary skins - released annually each May since the 2019 launch; the 5th Anniversary cake-bear skin cost 2,024 Quidz and is now unobtainable
• ⏳ Halloween skins - Ghost Bear, Pumpkin, Robot Bear, and Psycho Bear for seasonal events
• ⏳ 4th of July skin - a holiday exclusive cosmetic
• 💎 Sam's Resting Place - the most prominent lore location, accessible via the Obby For Quidz; Sam is an NPC sleeping at the bottom of a pit who asks players how they found their way down

The 36 sub-places are where BEAR (Alpha) transcends standard survival games. Locations include cryptically named art spaces ("IT IS THE ART," "IT IS THE SPACE"), narrative spaces ("this iswas my home," "this iswas my friends"), seasonal month-year markers (MAY-19, JULY-19), and philosophical places (CORRIDOR OF TIME, NOW & FOREVER, SAINT SAMUEL). The 58 badges include reversed-text puzzles ("KCAB EMOC T'NOD DNA HSARC I FI DNA"), Base64 encoded badges, and symbol-only badges (✘, ✓, ▓).

Cheedaman is a solo developer who has maintained the game for nearly a decade with annual anniversary events and community-engaging lore.
