Cat Infection

Cat Infection is an asymmetric multiplayer survival game on Roblox developed by SHIBA FORCE where players are randomly assigned to one of two roles each round: Cats trying to infect every human, or humans fighting back to eliminate all Cats before being overrun. Launched in March 2021, the game has accumulated over 97.5 million visits and supports up to 40 players per server - one of the largest lobby sizes in the infection game genre on Roblox, creating genuinely chaotic large-scale rounds.

At round start, players are split into teams with completely opposing objectives. The snowball dynamic accelerates toward the end of each round as infections spread and the Cat team grows. A major overhaul in December 2024 rebuilt nearly every system, and a second part of that update was announced but not yet released at time of profiling:

• ⚔️ Cats - faster-moving role that wins by infecting or eliminating every human; infected players must say "Meow" in chat and join the Cat team
• 🏠 Humans - use weapons including the code-unlockable Katana to fight back; win by defeating all Cats before being overrun
• 🗺️ Maps - multiple maps rotate at round start, some favoring open Cat chases and others offering human defensive structures
• 🎭 Cat Skins - cosmetic variants for the Cat role added in the December 2024 overhaul; an Exclusive Premium Skin is available for Roblox Premium subscribers
• ⚔️ Shiftlock - precision camera lock for humans added in the December 2024 update, improving aiming and movement control during chases
• 💰 Coins - in-game currency earned through gameplay and codes, spent in the Shop on skins, hats, and cosmetics

The 40-player server cap creates a level of chaos and unpredictability unusual for the infection genre. A single coordinated Cat push can flip the tide instantly, and the growing Cat team in the final minutes of a round creates genuine tension for the remaining humans. Shiftlock gives humans a mechanical edge in precision play, partially offsetting the Cat team's speed advantage.

With 53 tracked badges and 24 gamepasses, Cat Infection has substantial depth beyond the core round format, including developer encounter badges and an extensive cosmetic catalog overhauled with cheaper prices in the December 2024 update.
