How popular is Centipede?
About Centipede
Centipede is an asymmetric horror survival game by verified developer laughablehaha on Roblox, launched July 2020 and inspired by Piggy and Spider. It has accumulated 389.8 million visits and maintains 866 concurrent players nearly five years after launch - a testament to its enduring horror formula. Servers hold 6 players.
One player is transformed into a mutant centipede - a former friend from a sleepover who was bitten and no longer knows right from wrong. Up to five survivors must escape the basement before the centipede catches them:
- βοΈ Asymmetric horror - one centipede vs up to five survivors, each round randomly assigning the monster role
- πΊοΈ Basement escape - survivors navigate the horror environment and must get out before the centipede hunts them down
- π Segment upgrades - the 1 Extra Segment (99 Robux) and 2 Extra Segments (199 Robux) gamepasses stack to give the centipede up to 3 extra starting body segments, increasing speed at round end
- π Escape Artist challenge - escape in under 5 minutes to earn this badge, achieved by only 6.3% of players
- π° CENTS currency - the in-game economy doubled by the Double CENTS gamepass (199 Robux)
The small 6-player server cap makes every match feel personal. The centipede grows more dangerous as the round progresses, giving survivors an incentive to escape quickly rather than hide indefinitely. The 2x Centipede Chance pass (299 Robux) doubles the probability of being assigned the monster role each round.
The body-horror premise - a known friend becoming the monster - drives a different kind of fear than anonymous creature games. If you enjoy asymmetric Roblox horror, Chained in Backrooms offers a co-op horror experience with a larger squad size.
