How popular is Fishing Simulator!?
About Fishing Simulator!
Fishing Simulator! is one of the original and most influential Roblox fishing experiences, developed by Cloud Entertainment and created February 17, 2019. Players cast lines across 10+ unique island biomes, collect over 1,000 fish species, hunt sharks and sea monsters with weapons, and sail a persistent connected ocean world. With 486 million+ visits and a Fandom wiki of over 5,700 pages, it helped establish the fishing simulator subgenre on Roblox and continues to attract 400-900 concurrent players despite significant competition from newer titles like Fisch and Fish It!.
The fishing loop is reaction-based: click into the air to cast, wait for a bite, click at the bite to set the hook, then click rapidly to keep the reeling tension within the green zone until the progress bar fills. Different islands unlock as you progress through rod tiers, each with a distinct biome (tropical, arctic, deep sea, volcanic, desert, fungal) and unique fish population:
- ๐บ๏ธ Sail between 10+ islands including Port Jackson, Shadow Isles, Eruption Island, Fungi Lagoon, and Timeless Tides
- โ๏ธ Hunt sharks, orcas, and a giant whale with combat weapons in addition to standard fishing
- ๐ Build a personal Aquarium by displaying caught fish rather than selling them
- ๐ Complete per-island Fish Indexes - only 50-100 players have finished any single island index
- ๐ฐ Earn Gems (the primary premium currency) and Coins (from selling fish) to fund rod upgrades and exploration
Joining the Cloud Entertainment Roblox group unlocks a special group chest in the lobby awarding 100 Gems plus 5,000 Coins on first claim - a meaningful early-game boost. A Fandom wiki with over 5,700 pages documents every fish species, island, quest, and event ever added.
