Mistaken is an asymmetric horror game on Roblox developed by VRDT9's Cool Group, inspired by Forsaken but built with a distinctive twist: every Killer character in the game can also be played as a Survivor variant with flipped mechanics. Launched in May 2025, it reached over 12 million visits driven by a community drawn to its multi-fandom crossover roster.

Each match pits one Killer against up to 13 Survivors across a 14-player server. The Killer hunts while Survivors work to escape, survive, or outlast them. What sets Mistaken apart from other asymmetric horror games is the roster design - Killers are original characters inspired by various media franchises, and each one has a corresponding playable Survivor variant with inverted mechanics:

Cash is the primary currency earned from every round. Malice is a secondary event currency introduced with the Malevolent/JJK Update and tied to event-specific unlocks. Codes provide both, making them useful for catching up on character unlocks or topping up event currency between updates.

The 62% approval rating reflects the inherently divisive nature of asymmetric horror balance debates. Ability overhauls have shipped via balance patches, with ongoing crossover content expanding the roster.
