Players train under the guidance of Master Sneak in the Greatest Ninja Dojo in all the Land, navigating a gauntlet of traps, lava pits, boulders, and deadly obstacles to reach the Winners Room and earn the title of Ultimate Ninja. With over 103 million visits, it has substantial reach for a solo-developer classic obby.

The game is built as a single linear challenge from stage one to stage twenty-four:
