The game originally started as a fan-made second floor for DOORS before evolving into its own standalone horror experience with a distinct parallel storyline.

Players enter floors solo or in groups of up to 4, navigating room-by-room through corridors while avoiding Entities - hostile creatures with specific behavior patterns that must be learned through trial and error. The developer explicitly recommends playing without guides on a first playthrough, as dying is an intentional part of the learning process. Each death teaches players about entity behavior, room layout hazards, or mechanical requirements.

The game features multiple distinct areas. The Lost Mines (Floor 1) is the original mining-cave environment serving as the introduction.
