Treasure Hunt Simulator 2 is the sequel to the original Treasure Hunt Simulator, developed by HD Games. Players dig through excavation sites to uncover buried treasure, earning Coins to upgrade their tools and backpack while collecting Gems for pet hatching and cosmetics. Launched in August 2022, the game has accumulated 13.1 million visits and maintains a loyal player base despite its last update in October 2023.

The core loop is satisfying in its simplicity: enter the dig site, excavate with your shovel, find buried treasure (coins, gems, and items), return to the surface to deposit your haul, and invest in upgrades. Shovel tiers increase excavation speed and power, while Backpack tiers determine how much treasure you can carry per trip. The game features multiple themed islands including a Pirate-themed area, a volcanic Lava island, and the most recent Steampunk Island with its unique Steampunk Converter mechanic and exclusive tools.

The Rebirth system resets your progression in exchange for permanent multipliers, and the more advanced Super Rebirth provides even greater bonuses for dedicated players. Pets hatched from Gem-purchased eggs provide passive bonuses, and pet trading between players adds a collectible layer. A Lucky Boost modifier improves the rarity and quantity of treasure found while digging, and several codes grant timed Lucky Boosts alongside Gems, XP Boosts, and Coin Boosts. Joining the HD Games Roblox group gives a permanent +10% coin boost and the "Fan" tag. All 10 active codes appear to remain permanently redeemable.
