About Chained Together
Chained Together is a cooperative climbing obby on Roblox for 2-5 players, developed by Archive Experiences and inspired by the original PC game of the same name. The Roblox version has accumulated 162 million visits and 485K+ favorites since launching in June 2024 alongside the viral PC release.
Every player in the group is physically chained together, so moving too far from a partner pulls the chain taut and a bad fall drags the entire group down. Success requires timing jumps, communicating movements, and using the pull-up mechanic before a slip becomes a total wipe. The core loop stays focused on that single shared goal:
- βοΈ Chain physics - falling too far below your group yanks everyone down together
- π Pull-up rescue - hold E on PC or Interact on mobile to save a falling partner before they drag the group
- πΊοΈ Difficulty scaling - 2-player runs are hard; 5-player attempts add more chains and more failure points
- β³ EXTREME mode - a harder difficulty tier where the Win badge requires reaching the top with a friend
- π Extra Chain Length pass - extends the distance between chained players, reducing tension at 499 Robux
Coins are the in-game currency used for cosmetic customization. The game's pass catalog includes cosmetics and the chain length upgrade for groups that find the default spacing too punishing.
Chained Together occupies a unique spot in Roblox obbies because the shared failure is the appeal - wiping as a group is funnier than failing alone, which makes it a natural streaming and content creation game. Players who prefer solo climbing challenges will find more at home in a traditional obby like Only Up!.
