About Killer Stairs
Killer Stairs is an asymmetric multiplayer game on Roblox developed by Suspiciously Long Group Name Games with a simple, repeatable premise: one randomly chosen player becomes the Killer and must stop all others from reaching the top of a staircase, while the remaining players race to climb past whatever the Killer throws at them. Launched in April 2025, the game reached 79.6 million visits and 4.25 million favorites in under nine months - rapid viral growth driven by the social and inherently replayable nature of the format.
Every round starts with a random selection - one player becomes the Killer while everyone else becomes a Climber. The Killer deploys abilities and items to knock climbers off or slow their ascent, and the climbers try to reach the top before being stopped. Optional gamepasses tilt the odds and let paying players influence the outcome more dramatically:
- āļø Fight as the randomly selected Killer using abilities to stop climbers from reaching the top of the staircase
- š Race as a Climber to reach the top before the Killer takes you out, competing against all other non-Killer players
- š Unlock the Nuke (999R$) for a massive area-of-effect elimination or the Black Hole (400R$) for gravity-pull attacks
- š Use the Banana Peel (99R$) to trip climbers or the Sprint pass (99R$) for faster movement in either role
- š° Purchase the 3x Killer Chance pass to triple the probability of being selected as the Killer each round
The 71.3% approval rating - below average for the platform - reflects some player frustration with balance between the Killer and Climbers. The developer has acknowledged the game is early in development and is actively collecting feedback. For similar asymmetric Roblox games, see Evade and comparable tag or freeze-tag formats.
