PETAPETA is a Japanese horror escape game on Roblox by Omochi_Studio (in collaboration with Inu_productions) with over 537 million visits and 857K favorites - one of the most successful Japanese-style horror experiences on the platform. Set in an infinitely extending abandoned hotel on a full moon night, it is celebrated for its atmospheric precision: maximum graphics and headphones are both strongly recommended for the intended experience.

The game is built around investigation and mounting dread:

The name PETAPETA references the sound of footsteps - the entity's defining audio cue before each encounter. The Safe mechanic provides a hiding element when the threat is near, and Spirit Glasses (a Chapter 1 gamepass added in the April 2026 update) adds a new dimension to investigation.
