Timber!

Timber! is an island-building tycoon and tree-chopping simulator on Roblox developed by TBlox Studios, where players chop trees, collect Cash, expand their island across themed biomes, and hire workers to automate production. Launched in June 2021, it reached 99.5M visits and a 94.4% approval rating before TBlox released the direct sequel Timber 2 in October 2023. The original Timber! remains fully playable and continues to draw search traffic, though the developer now actively redirects players to the sequel.

The core loop connects three activities that compound over time. Tree chopping is the primary resource action - players chop trees scattered across their island to earn logs and Cash, with Axe Strength determining chop speed. Joining the TBlox Studios Roblox group doubles Axe Strength permanently, the most impactful early shortcut for new players. As Cash accumulates, players unlock new island sections and eventually hire Workers - NPCs that automate chopping and generate resources passively even while offline:

Hiring all 10 Workers (the Lumber CO. badge milestone) transforms the game from active grinding into idle management, which is the satisfying shift the mid-game builds toward.

Timber! sits comfortably in the casual idle-tycoon space on Roblox and served as the gateway experience for what became the more fully featured Timber 2. The original is the right starting point for players new to the series before moving to the sequel.
